Intentional Connections for Developing Mathematical Proficiency in Every Learner

A research-informed framework that helps educators understand how mathematical proficiency develops through interconnected strands of learning.

✓ Build conceptual understanding

✓ Strengthen mathematical reasoning

✓ Support meaningful discourse

✓ Develop confident mathematical thinkers

✓ Align instruction across grades

Why This Framework?

Many students struggle not because they lack ability, but because one or more strands of mathematical proficiency need strengthening.

The Mathematical Weave Framework™ helps educators identify, nurture, and connect those strands so every learner can grow.

Rhaquel P. Williams, M.Ed. is a K–5 educator, math coach, children's author, and doctoral researcher dedicated to helping every student experience success in mathematics. She developed the Threads of Mathematical Proficiency™ Framework to provide educators with a clear, research-informed way to understand how mathematical proficiency develops through interconnected strands of learning. Her mission is to bridge research and practice while empowering teachers, families, and students to build deep understanding, confidence, and a lifelong love of learning.
