I am Rhaquel P. Williams, a children's author and educator passionate about creating stories that inspire, empower, and connect. I believe books have the power to build bridges—helping children see themselves in the pages they read while opening their hearts and minds to the experiences of others. Through engaging stories, diverse characters, and authentic representation, my books celebrate the unique strengths of every child—helping neurodivergent children feel seen, valued, and understood while helping all readers develop empathy, understanding, and appreciation for the many ways people learn, think, and experience the world.
I didn’t become an author because I simply loved books. I became an author because I saw children searching for themselves inside them.
As a second-grade educator, I’ve spent years working with students who learn in beautifully different ways. Some children struggle to decode words but can explain the universe through patterns. Some carry big worries inside tiny bodies. Some shine in math until language gets in the way. And many simply long to feel seen. Those children inspired every story I write.
I believe stories can do two powerful things at once: help children recognize themselves in the pages they read and help them better understand the experiences of others. When readers encounter different ways of learning, thinking, and problem-solving, they not only build confidence in themselves—they also develop empathy, compassion, and a deeper appreciation for the diversity that makes our communities stronger.
Today, my work centers around two connected missions: helping children feel seen and helping children feel capable. Through my books and The Mathematical Weave Framework™, I create resources that support literacy, mathematical proficiency, neurodiversity, and confidence in every learner. Whether in a classroom, a professional learning session, or the pages of a storybook, my goal is the same—to help children recognize their strengths and discover what is possible.
My books blend imagination, emotional growth, literacy, STEM, and neurodiversity-affirming storytelling to create worlds where children feel understood, capable, and valued. I believe learning differences are not deficits—they are different ways of experiencing and understanding the world.
Whether I’m writing about a child decoding word problems, predicting weather patterns, or learning to quiet their “What Ifs,” my goal remains the same:
to create stories that help children build confidence while embracing who they are.
